(WIDK By Rebecca Arden) – A bizarre accident has left numerous people injured, with at least five critical. 

A Metro-North commuter train from New York to Boston derailed and was hit by another train Friday evening while carrying over 700 passengers between the two trains, leaving over 60 people injured and five people critically injured. 

An eastbound train, carrying about 300 people, derailed around 6 P.M. and was struck by a westbound train carrying about 400 passengers, U.S. News reports.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) does believe the incident was an accident but are doing a full investigation.

There has been no word on how fast either of the trains were going.

Amtrak services have been discontinued indefinitely between New York and New Haven, Conn. along with limited services on Northeast Regional lines between Boston and New Haven.

Metro-North is one of the busiest commuter rail services located in the U.S. with four different tracks on the New Haven line, two of which are already out of service due to construction. The MTA hopes to get the derailed tracks back in service by Monday.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – A school bus driver did not see the ten-year old boy slip and fall under the bus — but his mother did.

In Parker County, Texas, 10-year old Haven Norton died after he slipped under the wheels of his oncoming school bus and was run over.

The bus driver did not see the child slip and fall under the bus, but his mother, who was watching from her front porch, witnessed the devastating accident.

According to The Star Telegram, the child had only been riding the school bus for a couple of weeks, since one of the family’s cars had broken down.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kanye West is planning to go on tour to promote his new album, which coincides with the birth of his child with Kim Kardashian. 

According to Perez Hilton, initial reports saying that Kanye plans to abandon Kim and their baby for touring may not be true.

Kim is allegedly asking for cribs and soundproof rooms in all of Kanye’s hotels he’ll be staying in, so that she and the baby could come along with him.

Kim’s life is based in LA due to all of her filming for her various reality shows, which she said her child won’t be a part of.

Will Kim actually sacrifice her TV appearances to follow her baby daddy around the world with a newborn baby?

Only time will tell.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) - An Ontario man’s breakfast is  interrupted by 400-pound black bear who wanted him for breakfast.

Joe Azougar, 30, could already feel the 400-pound black bear’s teeth on his scalp when two women, whom Azougar calls “his angels,” scared the beast away.

According to Daily Mail, the bear had already killed Azougar’s dog and broken into his cabin when it finally got a hold of him.

The two “angels” who have not been identified, were driving nearby when they heard Azougar screaming.

They honked their car horn to scare the bear away, then drove Azougar to the hospital where he received over 300 stitches.

He is expected to recover.

Girls (and boys) in Sunrise, Florida can now enjoy an interactive experience in the life-sized Barbie Dreamhouse, which is a replica of the world-famous Barbie Malibu Beach House. 

Visitors can explore the many pink rooms, ride in her Jet Airplane and try on digital clothes in her Endless Dream Closet.

The joint enterprise between Mattel, Barbie’s manufacturer, and EMS Entertainment, took less than a year to build; a second Barbie Dream House opened in Berlin, Germany.

According to Travelers Today. everyone is not pleased with the image Barbie perpetuates, and the Occupy Barbie Dreamhouse Facebook page is planning a protest at the Berlin Dreamhouse.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – Two mother’s went on a liquor-fueled boat trip for Mother’s Day — and abandoned their children, aged 6 and 8.

Billie Jean Williams, 27, and Mary Joyce Daffron, 28, were arrested in Ocala Florida for abandoning their children, aged 8 and 6 respectively, to go on a Mother’s Day “booze cruise.”

The two children went into a nearby restaurant and informed the staff that they couldn’t locate their mothers.

According to The Miami New Times, a man who had known one of the women in high school told police that he had seen them getting on a boat, more than an hour before.

When the boat docked the two intoxicated women were arrested and spent Mother’s Day in jail.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – A depressed, pregnant mother advertised her 3-year-old son on Craigslist, hoping to find a family to adopt him.

Stephanie Christine Redus, 29, of Houston, Texas, claims that because she was pregnant she was unable to take her anti-depression medicine and that is why she put her 3-year old son up for adoption — on Craigslist.

Her Craigslist post read, “Hi. I’m trying to adopt out my 3yr old son. I’m not in a good place in my life and don’t feel like I can care for him properly but I don’t know where to start. If you or know anyone who is interested in caring for him please let me know. I’m a single mom and can’t do this. Thanks, Desperate.”

According to U.S.News on NBC News, She was arrested and charge with advertising the placement of a child, which is a misdemeanor.

She posted a bond of $1000, and will be arraigned in Houston.

(WIDK By Remus Lee) - A poor soul on death row finally meets the guardian angel who rescued him.

Captain Morgan, a dachshund mix, was rescued from a dog pound in Alabama by Eva Armstrong, one of the directors of Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue.

According to The Huffington Post, Badass Brooklyn is an all-volunteer group that has saved over eight hundred dogs from execution in high-capacity dog pounds in the rural south.

When Captain Morgan attended a Badass Brooklyn event, it was immediately clear that he hadn’t forgotten his benefactor when he enthusiastically jumped up on Armstrong.

Badass Brooklyn subsists on donations and volunteers and is always looking for more workers and homes for dogs to be adopted into.
