(WIDK By Lukasz Bielawski) – China edited out a famous scene from Titanic because of unusual concerns.
A scene which exposes Kate Winslet’s breasts, was censored in China because government authorities feared that the audience “may reach out their hands for a touch”, because of the films new 3D effects.
According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Chinese officials stated, “Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people’s viewing.”
They also claimed, “To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we’ve decided to cut off the nudity scenes.”
Chinese Cinemagoers expressed their frustrations through blogging.
