(WIDK by Meggan Gittens) - A Lake Alfred, Florida woman has been charged with first-degree murder of her 78-year-old husband.
64-year-old Barbara Scott was taken to police, by her daughter, where she confessed to that her husband was buried in the herb garden of her backyard. Benny Scott was found legs and hands bound together, with a single gun shot wound to the back of the head.
According to WESH Orlando, Scott had originally told authorities that her husband fell in the shower, hit his head and died. She later changed her story and said she found him in the shower with a gun near him.
Investigators were also told by a witness that Scott mentioned many times before her husbands death, that she was ‘tired of her husband always wanting and needing her assistance.’
This is not Barbara’s first run in with the law. In 1987 she was arrested and convicted of charges for embezzlement in Oklahoma. She was sentenced to five years in prison.
