Heroes – Family Saves Stranded Dolphin By Pulling Mammal Back Into Ocean

(WIDK By Nick Miller) – A vacationing family in Florida tugged a beached dolphin stranded on a sandbar to safety.

Kerry Ware, 41, and her family were vacationing on her parent’s boat in Florida when they noticed a helpless beached dolphin stuck on a sandbar, and set the dolphin free by pulling him back into the ocean.

Pulling the 300 pound dolphin was no easy task.

According to ABC News, George Heheman, 72, said the dolphin, ‘fought us at first, and then I don’t know whether she realized what we were doing or not, but she quit.’

Ware’s 11 year old son shot the video and claims to see more stranded dolphins in the distance.

After the rescue, Ware was, ‘just beaming from ear to ear and we’d just sit for the rest of the day saying, ‘I can’t believe we just did that.’ It was such an amazing experience.”
