(WIDK by Patrick Heywood) – An officer finds an infant in an unexpected place.
A woman was caught during a routine traffic stop with her week-old newborn baby zipped up in her purse in Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands.
When an officer asked for the woman’s license, he heard a baby crying, but couldn’t see one.
The officer inquired about the cry, which lead to the woman unzipping her purse, revealing a tiny newborn.
The baby was born a week ago at home, according to the woman, and she was driving the infant to a doctor.
According to CBS News, authorities rushed the infant to a hospital. The woman was released but may be facing criminal charges.
