An 8-year-old boy tried to save his grandmother Clara Almazo, 57, before she died trying to save him from an on-coming SUV while walking home from church on Thursday in Staten Island, New York.
According to The New York Daily News, Brian Herrera Ramirez, who is in the hospital with a broken leg, put his hand out and said stop as the SUV came barreling towards them.
The driver Brian McGurk, 40, was charged with fleeing the scene of a crime and held on a $50,000 bond.
