Police made a gruesome discovery when they found Jieming Liu, 79, a Chinese immigrant living in Massachusetts, in his apartment sitting in his rocking chair covered in blood, while his wife , Yuee Zou, 73, lay dismembered in their bedroom.
According to Daily Mail, when officers arrived at the scene, Liu was drenched in blood and surrounded by pieces of his wife’s flesh.
Liu’s son arrived home to the horrific scene and all his father kept repeating was, “This is not your mother,” in Mandarin Chinsese.
At Liu’s arraignment yesterday, Assistant District Attorney Michael McHugh claimed Liu may have been eating his wife’s flesh.
Liu’s attorney told the court his client may be suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia, but according to Worcester Telegram and Gazette, experts say Alzheimer’s patients are typically confused and agitated, but not violent.
Liu, who claims he killed his wife in self-defense, faces murder, mayhem, assualt and battery charges.
