(WIDK By Bob Bachelder) - A man was shot to death in his own home by two armed assailants while cleaning out his garage with his 8-year-old son.
Fred Martin Jr., 28, from Inglewood, California used his body as a shield to protect his son when two unidentified males entered the garage and began firing.
According to Global Grind, Martin was shot numerous times in the chest in stomach as he grabbed his son, Tre, and laid on top of him.
Martin was rushed to the hospital but sadly died during surgery.
Tre was grazed with a bullet but is expected to make a full recovery.
Martin received his bachelors degree at Texas Southern University in 2006. He has recently moved back to California to be closer to his family.
His wife, Amanda Grant, is pregnant with Fred’s second child, the couple’s first.

Why was he attacked in the first place?
This is a true hero. Sports figures and actors are NOT heroes.
This is hard to read, I have a son myself and would give my life up for him anytime. I hope those crimimals get whats coming to them, hopefully bullets in their freaking heads.
