(WIDK By AnnaMarie Houlis) - One mother crossed the thick line between what she thought was a joke, and what others saw as child cruelty.
South Florida mother, Courtney Shanvice McBride, 20, was arrested on Sunday after sending a picture of her five-month-old daughter with a plastic bag over her head to the baby’s father via text messaging.
According to Fox News, immediately after receiving the picture, her husband called a relative who then contacted the Davies police.
McBride, claiming what she did was only a joke, attempted to justify her actions by stating that she never tied the bag, and it was only a few mere seconds that it took her to snap the picture.
The baby and her two-year-old sibling have been placed with relatives while the investigation is occurring.

Honestly who really cares if she was to kill it? Whats the big deal about a joke? Watch and see if she doesnt get it back. They live in Florida so you know she will get it back. Get over it people it was just a joke and its probably so ugly that shes ashamed to take it out in public.

im not upset, the kid is fine….its just sensational journalism…ppl dont think every thing through, like when MJ put his kid over the railing….he wasnt thinking. if you can say youve never made a bad decision, then get ready to have some worshipers, cuz your jesus
as long as the child doesnt mimic the behavior, i got no problem with the joke….if that was my wife, and i knew her personally (meaning we werent fighting/getting divorced), i may not laugh, but i wouldnt call the cops the first time she did it….id tell her it wasnt really funny, and the child could mimic the behavior so she shouldnt do it again…but thats it…unless i thought the mother of my child really would hurt the kids, then i would have called the police….as for them personally i dont know them, so i dont know the real intent.

They probably didn’t have proof of paternity. Paternity has to be established, in order for a child to be taken into custody by the alleged father. Also, perhaps, he has a history of drug charges, armed robbery, or battery. That would disqualify him from being able to be a placement for the children. Any potential child welfare placement has to go through an emergency FBI background check. They’re probably with Grandma.
She lives in Florida, so that means she will probably get her kids back and do even worse to them !!! You can get away with Murder there !

Her reason behind this would be better explained with the word ‘Trick’ rather then the word “Joke’. My best guess is that she was trying to trick him into believing she was going to harm the child as some form of lashing out towards him. Because it was just a trick, not her actually suffocating her child, that is why she feels she can justify it as a ‘Joke’. Clearly this was not meant to be a ha-ha-ha kind of joke. Obviously he thought she was actually attempting to or planning on harming the child or he wouldn’t have alerted the authorities. If they were a happily married couple and he knew he had a mentally stable wife, he would have at least called to ask her what was going on before calling the police. But he didn’t, he immediately sought help for his child believing that the child was endanger. This is no way a joke, this is case of some crazy woman using an innocent child to get back at and/or get the attention of a man she most likely feels has scorned her in some way. Some people should not be aloud to reproduce.

I hope that the father take full custody of the kids because that wasn’t a good joke at all. This joke was not funny at all. Thank for the father for taking the right action. As for the mother, she made herself a criminal.
So glad Dad has common sense and reacted quickly…but why did they place the children with relatives, when obviously their father’s not an idiot, just mom. They should have placed mom in the psyche ward
