(WIDK By Olivia Roat) - An elderly female gymnast wows the crowd at a world gymnastic event.
86-year-old Johanna Quaas of Saxony performed a parallel bar and floor routine that rivaled those of her younger competitors at the 2012 Cottbus World Cup in Germany.
According to The Local, Quaas began gymnastics late in life: she took up the sport at the age of 30 after she won the East German Handball Championships.
Since turning 35, she has won 11 medals in the German Senior Championships.
Although Quaas has gained worldwide attention after a video of her floor routine went viral on YouTube, she remains modest and says that she performs for fun.
