(WIDK by Meggan Gittens) - A Waterford, Vt. couple have been arrested in connection to the murder of a high school teacher and freshman girls’ basketball coach.
The body of 33-year-old Melissa Jenkins body was found Monday not to far from where her car had been discovered by her ex-boyfriend who alerted police. In the car, unharmed, was Jenkins two year old son.
30-year-old Allen Prue and his wife 33-year-old Patricia Prue have been charged in the murder. Allen Prue had in the past done work for Jenkins.In an attempt to lure Jenkins to them, the Prue’s purchased a pre-paid cell phone and called Jenkins for help.
According to ABC News, when detectives confronted Allen with evidence he confessed to the murder. He stated that once Jenkins got out of the car he began to strangle her, with the assistance of his wife.
After taking Jenkins lifeless body back to their home they stripped her, doused her with bleach and drove the body to a boat on the Connecticut River.
Weighing her body down with cinder blocks, they dumped her body in the shallow river and covered her with branches.
The couple faces 2nd degree murder charges and charges for improperly disposing of a body.
