(WIDK By Hannah Tool) - An elementary school principal in Texas was arrested alongside her husband after police discovered drug paraphernalia in their home.

Jennifer St. Amand-Smith, who called police to her home around midnight on February 19th because she was afraid her husband was trying to harm himself, is now facing charges for possession of narcotics.
St. Amand-Smith denies any knowledge that her husband was using drugs, but Lt. Onesimo Lopez told Click 2 Houston that the bongs, glass pipes, syringes, ecstasy pills and marijuana were out in plain sight, and that it would, “be kind of hard,” for St. Amand-Smith not to notice.
Administrators in St. Amand-Smith’s school district say the principal told them the police only found a small bag of drugs tucked away in a closet, and that it belonged to her brother-in-law.
School district officials have requested public documents on the case be sent to them for review.
In the mean time, St. Amand-Smith has been placed on paid administrative leave.
