(WIDK By AnnaMarie Houlis) - Not fireworks, but gunshots, burst in Chicago last weekend, causing a fatal catastrophe.

18-year-old Juan Barraza and a 16-year-old boy, whose name cannot be disclosed, were charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and the murder of six-year-old Aliyah Shell.
Aliyah was shot outside her house, on the 3100 block of South Springfield Avenue, Saturday around 3:30 PM, and left unresponsive when her mother and sister found her.
According to NBC Chicago, Alliyah’s sister, Desiree Valzquez, what she thought were fireworks, but were really the sound of firing gunshots from a passing pickup truck.
The Chicago Tribunesaid that both teens may be affiliated with the Latin King Gang and were potentially seeking rival gang members.
