(WIDK By Bob Bachelder) - They say people can acquire superhuman strength when their child is in danger.
Valeh Levy watched in horror as a shark pulled her 15-year-old daughter, Sydney, off her surfboard and under the water. The brave mother grabbed her daughter by the shoulders, releasing her from the shark’s mouth, and rushed her ashore.
According to Fox News, the shark grabbed Sydney by her ankle and pulled her under two separate times.
“I said, ‘There’s no way this thing is going to kill my daughter,’ and I grabbed her shoulders, and I pulled her up on my board,” Valeh told reporters.
Luckily, there was already an ambulance in the area because 17-year-old Nick Romano had been attacked by a shark moments earlier.
The two teens were both treated at a nearby hospital and released several hours later. They are both expected to make full recoveries.

I find it heroic what this mother did to save this child. At the same time, on the same page where I read this story, there was another story about a ‘Mother’ who adopted four children and, along with her husband, put these children through unspeakable torture and sexual abuse. The contrast between the two women is frightening.
