(WIDK By AnnaMarie Houlis) – Thanksgiving is a time for sharing family love, certainly not making it.
Texas woman, Amanda Billiris, 23, was arrested after having sex with a 15-year-old relative on Thanksgiving at a family event in Oakridge Forest Lane in Spring.
Billiris has been charged with second-degree felony sexual assault, which is punishable by two to 20 years in prison, and if found guilty, she might also be fined up to $10,000; though, according to the Houston Press, Billiris has bonded out of jail.
As a motorcycle racer, Billiris suffered critical injuries in a 2009 car crash, including a blow to the head, and has claimed that she was not in the correct state of mind during the Thanksgiving Day incident.
For now, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.

I agree with anonomyous. Women don’t understand the raging hormones 15 year old boys can have. I remember at that age looking at knot holes in boards speculatively. When I started driving at 16 and got real girlfriends I think I passed out momentarily the first time and believe still believe I had reached nirvana.

A 15 year old may have the feeling of slaying his first dangerous wold game such as an Elephant. This happened to a relative of mine but the woman was not related. He enjoyed it,the parents pressed the charges and he may have wanted more. Just saying,there are legal and other ways to view this.

I agree that incest is wrong, but it never says how they were related. They might not have even been related by blood, and they’re ambiguous enough with their over-use of the world “relative” that there’s really no way to tell. If they have the same parents or grandparents then there’s a strong chance of genetic mutation, yes, but if they’re not related by blood, incest is simply a moral issue and should be dealt with accordingly.

What I find disturbing in both the article and some of the comments is the lack of emphasis on the INCEST which took place. Most of the comments focus on what the reaction and consequences would be if the roles were reversed gender-wise.
The second item of interest is the author’s wording:
“….after relatives said they witnessed her having sexual intercourse with the boy”
Rather than:
“…relatives said they discovered her having sexual intercourse with an underage male relative and immediately stopped the interaction”.
I can’t help but wonder if it was a male or female who discovered them and just how long did they observe the activity?!

INCEST, on the other hand, is wrong on every level and a good author would have made that the focus of the article, including mention of the possible double standard if the gender roles were reversed in regards to Ms. Billiris sentencing.

Depends on the incest. It doesn’t say if she was a close relative or a cousin or how far out in the family tree she was. Incest is gross, but there’s a definite difference between sexing your immediate relative that you grew up with and a cousin that you only see on holidays. Besides that, I really find some laws hypocritical since the first thing I thought when I looked at that picture was DAMN, I wish I was 15 and related to this woman.

I might be wrong here… But if you read the article you might be surprised to discover that this woman is being treated in the exact same way as a man would be according to the Texas Penal Code. I don’t see what are are moaning about.

If a 23 year old male had sex with 15 year old female relative, he would definitely be declared guilty in court and by media and public, and then would probably killed in prison. I am willing to bet [not that it will be the right thing] that her lawyer will site her accident in which she received a serious head injury as the reason she should be put on probation or in a rehab for sex offenders. When people sustain severe head injuries they often suffer personality changes for the worse and one side effect is lack of inhibition. They often become sex addicts and are caught as she was because they feel they are doing nothing wrong. It would be interesting to see how this unfolds but as the per the norm we will only get this initial shock fest and miss the trial happenings…You are on point though Diggler [or should I call you Dirk?] that the charge while the same is different for men & women.
